Packing a lunch
can be a frustrating event because it is always a struggle
for lunch ideas. Most
people end up settling for old leftovers, and when lunch time
comes around, they end up buying their lunch anyway. But you
don’t have to buy your lunch anymore because we have a
collection of 10 lunch cooler ideas for you. The best part is
that you will probably even save some money by making your
lunch.
1.
Roll-up sandwich,
pasta salad, fruit salad, hand full of nuts, and a bottle of
water. Roll-up sandwiches are great because they don’t feel
like sandwiches at all. You can use pita breads or open flat
breads depending what is available to you. Toss on some deli
meats, lettuce, mayo, and a little
mustard.
2.
Bagel with cream
cheese, smoked salmon, a few raisins, and cashews. This is a
classic and is sure to give your taste buds a nice treat. You
can also prepare some fried potatoes and a peach to go along
with it.
3.
How about a bean
burrito with cheese, sliced mangos, and a chef salad on the
side. You can buy a can of refried beans for about $1.50 which
can spread out to 4 or 5 burritos. The mangos will offer a
refreshing dessert to compliment the heaviness of the
beans.
4.
Why not try tomato
soup, salted crackers, grilled cheese, pickles, and yogurt for
dessert.
5.
Sushi is a
wonderful lunch because it will engage all kinds of
conversation. But if raw fish doesn’t suit your needs, try a
veggie sushi roll. Add some sesame crackers and miso soup. The
great thing about Miso soup is that it is cheap to make and
miso paste lasts forever in your
fridge.
6.
Everyone loves
tacos but they can be a real mess. Instead, make a taco salad.
You use all the same ingredients but break the taco shell over
top. Be sure to keep things separate before your ready to eat.
If you mix everything together before you go to work, it’s
going to create a soggy mess.
7.
Muffins don’t have
to be just for dessert or tea time. You can make savory muffins
for lunch too. Try making ham and cheese, corn bread, or
breaking up bits of BBQ chicken and BBQ sauce
inside.
8.
White rice is
boring. Try pan frying a few cups of rice mixed with everything
you like to eat. When everything is just about done, cook an
egg and scramble it in there too. You can add oyster or soy
sauce to help flavor everything while it’s
cooking.
9.
Sometimes you just
want something light, so try a platter of fruits, cheese, and
crackers. Of course wrap the crackers separate and anything
that is real juicy. If you need meat, add some meat in there as
well. This can be a great way to eat and work if you are busy
in the office.
10.
Buying prepackaged
meals is sometimes the best option for certain things that you
just wouldn’t eat normally. Frozen dinners and instant noodles
can be found on sale almost year round. Just be sure to check
the ingredients as many of these have large amounts of sodium
and/or fats.
We hope that this
collection gave you a few new lunch ideas. Stop eating peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch and eat something a bit
healthier.
