Lose Weight, Don't Skip Lunch

When you are hungry, eating as soon as possible help relives the craving for anything eatable. However, in our busy lives we end up skipping lunch because of appointments, deadlines, and other things that seem to be more important than eating. But if you don’t eat lunch you are sure to become sluggish and drained in the afternoon. This alone is enough to create a disturbance and production will come to a halt rather quickly. Not to mention, if you are trying to lose weight skipping lunch will be one more road block towards your goals.

You need to eat foods that are not only nutritious but also foods that will keep you feeling full for as long as possible. If you don’t go home for lunch then it will become important for you to prepare your lunches well in advance with the proper foods. Even preparing food a couple days in advance will ensure that you always have a proper and quality lunch.

Preparing your lunch doesn’t have to be a time consuming event. When you’re making dinner, why not cook a bit extra? Put the leftovers in a container and you’re good to go. The easiest leftover lunches are stir-fry, cabbage rolls, pastas, casseroles, and chili. Steak doesn’t do well the next day but if you cook some extra chicken it can be the perfect thing to compliment a salad for a truly healthy lunch. Just be sure not to drench the salad with a fattening dressing or you will have defeated the whole purpose of eating healthy.

When you are grocery shopping you should always look for food that is high in protein and lower in fat such as chicken breasts, fish, and vegetables. Sometimes it’s easier and cheap to buy premade sandwiches but make sure that the bread they are using is whole wheat or brown bread. Try to skip the sandwiches that contain a lot of mayonnaise or sauces. These are dangerous foods that contain a lot of sugar and fats. Some meals such as the “all day breakfast” are extremely fattening so stay away. One of the best rules is to keep it simple. Skip the soda and chips and always try to customize your sandwich if possible.

Another option is premade salads but again it is important to keep an eye out for bad dressings. Many times I’ve have seen someone boast about eating a healthy salad but then start to pour about 500 calories of a creamy dressing on top of it. Vinegar based dressings are usually safer in moderation.

Always be careful on your portions and use caution if you are unsure. It might even be best to eat something you know has a bit more calories than something that might be 10x that. Good luck with your lunch weight loss goals.
